Head Chef/Operator Job Profile and Description
A chef/operator is the head chef in charge of one of our state of the art mobile kitchens. The chef/operator is charged with the duty of overseeing all day to day operations in a single location. The chef manages all mobile restaurant staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Head Chef /Operator job duties and responsibilities include:
- Orders and maintains the ingredients and equipment to be kept in the kitchen’s inventory
- Decides the specials and communicates them to the executive chef and customers
- Determines the frequency at which the specials menu is to change
- Builds strong relationships with the on-site adminstration and customer base
- Responsible for scheduling of kitchen staff
- Supervision of all kitchen staff
- Recruitment and training of kitchen staff
- Plans the menus
- Supervises inventory and stock control
- Deals with the suppliers
- Maintains the budgetary targets
- Ensures that health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen
- Reviews the daily roster of the different tasks in the kitchen
- Distributes kitchens tasks to the employees

For a chef to be able to perform his/her duties effectively, they are required to have specific skills and knowledge. The following are the chef/operator job skills and specifications:

Education and Qualifications
To work as a chef/operator in any Pirate Pizza mobule kitchen or food truck, a degree or college diploma in food and beverage management and/or hotel management is required. 5 or more years experience as an executive chef or equivalent may be substituted for the educational requirements.
